Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit this website and use its free link shortening service, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the website you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
When you create a short link:
- The destination URL you submit.
- The short code (the random one or the custom name you choose).
- The date and time the link was created.
No account is needed to create a link, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
When someone opens a short link, we record basic statistics:
- The date and time of the visit.
- The visitor's approximate country.
- The website the visitor came from (the referrer domain, for example “google.com”), or “direct” if there is none.
We do not store IP addresses, and the statistics are not linked to a name or any other personal identity.
2. How we use the information
- To redirect visitors from a short link to its destination.
- To show link statistics (clicks, countries and traffic sources) to anyone who has the statistics address of that link.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and remove prohibited links.
- To maintain and improve the website.
3. Country detection and third-party services
To find the approximate country of a visitor, the visitor's browser sends a request to a third-party geolocation service (ipwho.is). That service necessarily receives the visitor's IP address in order to answer; we only keep the country name and code that it returns.
Link data and statistics are stored on Google Firebase (Realtime Database), and the website is hosted on Google Blogger. These providers process data under their own privacy policies:
4. Cookies and local storage
The website stores a small amount of data in your browser (local storage) to work properly: your chosen language, and the list of short links you created on your device so you can find them again. This data stays on your device and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.
Google, as the host of this website, and advertising partners may use cookies. If advertisements are shown on this website, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or learn more at aboutads.info.
5. Prohibited content
The service must not be used to shorten links to adult or pornographic content, malware, phishing, scams, or any illegal material. We automatically block some of these links and may remove any link, and its statistics, at any time and without notice.
6. Public nature of links and statistics
Short links are public: anyone who knows a short link can open it. The statistics page of a link is available to anyone who knows its code. Do not shorten links that contain private information, such as passwords or private documents.
7. Data retention and deletion
Links and their statistics are kept for as long as the service is active, unless they are removed. If you want a link and its statistics deleted, contact us and tell us the short link; we will remove it.
8. Data security
We use reasonable technical measures, including access rules on the database, to protect the stored information. However, no method of transmission or storage on the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Third-party links
Short links lead to websites that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to read their policies.
10. Children's privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Since we do not collect names, emails or IP addresses, most visitors are not personally identifiable, but you may contact us at any time with a request.
12. Legal basis and your rights under the GDPR (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the limited data we process. The website operator is the data controller and can be reached through our Contact page.
Legal bases. We process link data and visit statistics to provide the service you request and for our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving it and in preventing abuse. Where advertising cookies or similar technologies are used, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights. You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
International transfers. Our data is stored on Google Firebase servers located in the United States. Google relies on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for transfers of personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us. Because we do not store names, email addresses or IP addresses, we may need the short link concerned in order to find and handle your request.
13. Your privacy rights in California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states
Residents of California and of other US states with privacy laws may have the following rights: to know what personal information is collected, used and disclosed; to request deletion or correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Information we collect: internet activity data (visit time and referrer domain) and approximate location (country), as described above. We do not collect names, email addresses or precise location.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, other than through the advertising services described in the cookies section above.
- Advertising choices: if ads are shown, you can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or through the privacy choices message displayed on this website. Browsers that send an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, are respected where applicable.
To make a request, contact us and include the short link concerned.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when they are published on this page, and the “Last updated” date above will change accordingly.
